Maybelline Pure Makeup

PeaceBang has been very pleased lately with Maybelline Pure Makeup foundation, which bills itself as being 50% water, and therefore decidely ungooey.

The coverage is really excellent and blendable, it does feel lighter than many make-ups, and the shade goes perfectly with PeaceBang's slightly darker-than-usual skin. I will switch to something a bit more luminizing and moisturizing come November, but this is light and lovely for now.

Other bonuses: it comes in a squeeze tube so you're not letting in bacteria every time you open the cap, it travels brilliantly well, and it's way under $10!!

Help PeaceBang! What can I do to get rid of the bags under my eyes? You can pack groceries in them!

What's your recommendation?

Net! Quelle horrible!!

First of all, are you laying off the sodium?
Are you getting enough sleep? And how's your health? If the bags are really dark and new to you, there could be some nutritional deficiency. Don't be afraid to see a doctor if they're alarmingly dark.

Are you talking puffy or dark or both? For puffy, ice really does work, as do a number of products like Benefit De-Puffing Gel and Origins makes a nice de-puffing eye gel, too.
You will need to use them consistently for awhile to see the best results.

Cosmetically, let your day eye cream absorb, then use a brush to lightly apply a concealer or base to the puffs. If you're super-puffy, use a very light touch. After carefully blending the bags away, use a bigger brush to lightly dust with a translucent powder, or with an illuminating powder (Revlon makes my favorite one; it comes in a tub and is called something like Skin Brightening Powder).

Avoid using mascara and eyeliner on the lower lid and apply it more heavily on the upper lid to create some drama that takes the focus away from the Walter Mondale situation going on underneath.

If you're female, wear a beautiful blush and bright shiny lipstick to wake up your face, and for heaven's sake get some sleep.

No salty snacks before bed, and watch the sodium in processed and ethnic foods, as they could be causing this. Good luck! Tell me if anything works!

A small dab of Preparation-H can be a quick fix. The slight shellfish smell goes away in short order.

I know, not the most glamorous of methods, but it works.
