What Is Sephora?

What is Sephora?

What is Sephora, you ask?

Oh, my turtledoves, what pleasures await you:

http://www.sephora.com/

It is an emporium of cosmetics and fragrances. It is Mecca for product addicts. You can easily spend hours there, and it is usually PeaceBang's very first stop in Times Square when she hits the Big Apple.

Don't go alone the first time or you might be so overwhelmed you'll faint dead away.

There is also a big Sephora at the Houston Galleria--so I assume there are others elsewhere as well. For those of us in "fly-over" country.

Do I earn indulgences for dating a guy used to work at Sephora?

Not necessarily, dear heart. But you definitely earn indulgences for having a boyfriend who is perhaps even more into products than PeaceBang, and for getting me Davies Gate Foot Butter as a hostess gift.

I heart Sephora. I'm proud to say that the lovely 15 year-old WonderGirl and I were the first customers to enter our local Sephora on its first day of business, right after the ribbon-cutting.

I'm such a good mother that way!

There's one in Tysons Corner mall outside of DC, too. But it kind of intimidates me.

As it turns out, I was in the Georgetown Sephora yesterday afternoon, hunting for Fresh Tobacco Flower EDC. Sadly, Sephora no longer carries it, but I was referred to Blue Mercury--a store with two DC locations, including one on the same block as Sephora (and one in Dupont Circle). I suspect I'll be getting it soon, but I had spent too much money at L'Occitane, between the Green Tea EDT (a very clean scent) and the Prix Fixe sale. (If I put any more links into this comment, I will start to look like a spambot.)

They finally opened one in Portland. It's just a few miles from my house; right next door to The Cheesecake Factory.
