Will She Inspire You, Or Nurse You At Her Breast, Wipe Your Nose, and Feed You Mac And Cheese?

Clergywomen, when I talk in dire tones about jumpers, this is what I'm talking about.

This woman isn't a minister, but you and I both know that plenty of our colleagues (and professional religious educators) have sported this Earth Mama look.

This jumper screams Romper Room circa 1975, and it's just plain not an appropriate look for today's religious leader. No, not even if it's in corduroy. Not at all. Period. Not even if it's in gold lamé.

Demons of your wardrobe begone!! Frumpy jumpers, by the power of Christ, I call you OUT of those closets!

well, really, the biggest sin here isn't the jumper, but the failure of foundation garments. or absence thereof. or improper fit thereof. or...wearing out therein. i cannot begin to imagine. but somehow...there is lack of foundation work, and it needs to happen. even for the most modestly bestowed amongst us, foundation garments are important--yes, even in the heat of summer. but *especially* for one bestowed with such bounty. said bounty must be supported. under whatever cover it goes!

Can we take up a collection on Paypal to send this poor woman to a women's shop for a proper fitting? Or maybe a consultation with the ladies who were on Oprah that day I was home sick who helped fit ladies with properly fitting underthings?
The gravity of this situation cannot be ignored.

It may be just me, but everything looks better in gold lamé.

Oooh, that looks like my very first and all-time favorite blue denim jumper, now threadbare. I declared Lent 2006 "40 days of blue denim" and preached in a jumper every Sunday. The threadbare one I wore for Ash Wednesday.[I DO wear good foundations!] Of course, a good % of the congregations wear blue denim as well.
