Now honestly, while PeaceBang might have dared hope to be acknowledged as Best New Blog, she hardly knows what to say about Best Writing. How did this happen? What does this mean? Is this evidence of a quiet rebellion among American clergypeople? I hear the cry of my people: "Enough theology, we want LIP GLOSS!"
Well, my loyalists, PeaceBang HEARS you. She will keep the frivolity and the lip gloss ALIVE on this blog. Others may delve into the deep waters of religious meaning, but PeaceBang will keep this space alive for product reviews, dishy exposes of What Not To Wear in the pulpit, and passionate ruminations about looking our very best while toiling in the vineyards of the Lord.

Yay, congratulations! Now, I need some help. Direct me toward some good waterproof mascara. Please!
Anon, darling, PeaceBang highly recommends CoverGirl Remarkable washable waterproof mascara. It really does stays on in all but the wettest conditions -- but it doesn't require loads of petroleum based products to remove.
If you're dead set on totally waterproof, Marathon Mascara is another good one.
PeaceBang is a true believer in the old, cheap mascaras. Leave all the fancy new ones on the shelf. They're full of fibers and lengtheners and gimmicks but are really no improvement on the old school formulae.

Glad to hear of your awards, Peacebang--I was honored to vote for you.
Just keep keeping us all in line, OK? I'm doing some supply work this spring and along with remembering how to write a sermon, I'm remembering to match up my clericals, wash my alb, polish my shoes (and nails) and avoid hair in the eyes while presiding.
PeaceBang, on the mascara question, I have to disagree - the best is still Maybelline waterproof Blackest Black mascara - I *and* my makeup-artist-friends all swear by it!
As to the theology/lipgloss dichotomy, I say - Jesus was incarnate in this creation. And thus our created bodies, and what we do with them, and how they look, DO INDEED MATTER. Thank you so much for believing they matter!!!
But Kate, what BRAND of Maybelline waterproof? DO TELL!
